Richard L. Skeen currently advises and counsels private clients in connection with estate planning, tax planning, succession planning and asset protection planning.

He negotiates, structures and drafts agreements regarding entity formation, mergers, acquisitions reorganizations, debt and equity securities offerings, including stock and asset purchase agreements, merger agreements, operating agreements, business contracts, leases and licensing agreements.

Mr. Skeen currently serves as general and/or tax counsel to various local and international companies in the insurance, construction, aviation, real estate and retrial and distribution industries.

Mr. Skeen has represented businesses and lenders in connection with private debt and equity financing transactions, term and revolving credit facilities, commitments, investor rights agreements and legal opinions.

Mr. Skeen forms corporations and limited liability companies, and other business entities, and focuses on analyzing and structuring tax efficient investment vehicles, drafting and negotiating formation documents, operating agreements, shareholder agreements and various internal and external contracts.

Prior to The Skeen Law Group, P.A., Mr. Skeen was a Corporate Associate with a top law firm in Ponte Vedra, Florida where his practice focused on estate planning, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private securities financings, commercial real estate acquisitions and development, corporate governance, relationships among shareholders, and other general corporate representation.

Mr. Skeen also served as director of several domestic and international companies, has operated a tax compliance and consulting business, and has also served as a college professor.

Mr. Skeen founded The Law Offices of Richard L. Skeen in 2009 and later incorporated The Skeen Law Group, P.A. in 2013. Mr. Skeen has over 17 years of experience working and negotiating with many powerful players in the domestic and international business community and real estate industry. Mr. Skeen specializes in taxation, estate planning, asset protection law, and corporate transactions, as well as real estate transactions.

Mr. Skeen earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida, College of Law in 2006, his Juris Doctorate from The University of Tulsa, College of Law in 2005 and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business in 2002.

Mr. Skeen is a member of the Florida and Ohio bars. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Ohio and Florida, the U.S. Tax Court, The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Mr. Skeen is also an avid lecturer and routinely speaks on panels and has guest lectured at various educational institutions throughout Florida and Ohio.
